With this in mind, we have been awarded an exciting new project in the heart of Plymouth city centre to convert and refurbish 3 floors of a building at Derry's Cross into seven apartments.
The project will run for a 26 week period and will involve a number of trade disciplines.
To support this project we have an opportunity for a freelance Site Manager to join the team and take responsibility for the day to day management with a focus on safety, quality and programming.
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Site Manager to oversee operations at our facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all site activities are conducted efficiently and safely, while also managing a team of staff members. This role requires strong leadership skills and the ability to effectively supervise a diverse group of individuals.
Duties
Manage daily operations on-site, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
Supervise staff, providing guidance and support to enhance team performance.
Coordinate with various departments to ensure smooth workflow and communication.
Monitor project progress, addressing any issues that may arise in a timely manner.
Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality standards are met.
Prepare reports on site activities, including performance metrics and incident reports.
Foster a positive working environment that encourages teamwork and collaboration.
Experience
Proven experience in a supervisory or management role within a similar industry is essential.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with team members and stakeholders.
Familiarity with health and safety regulations relevant to the site operations.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making is highly valued.
