We teach in small groups with a dedicated and experienced teaching team, ensuring that each student receives individual attention and care. We create individual learning packages to support our students' needs.
Main Duties
Support construction teachers in workshops and classrooms, working with individuals and small groups.
Assist in preparing, maintaining, and clearing tools, equipment, and materials.
Promote and reinforce safe working practices in line with Health & Safety policies.
Demonstrate and guide learners in basic construction skills and trade knowledge.
Provide 1:1 and group mentoring to help learners stay engaged, build confidence, and progress.
Support learners with assessments, exams, and practical competency tests.
Help new learners settle into the construction learning environment.
Monitor learner progress and provide feedback to teachers.
Maintain a safe, organised, and well-equipped workshop, including monitoring stock levels.
Prepare resources, displays, and learner portfolios.
Support positive behaviour management, pastoral care, and learner wellbeing.
Accompany learners on site visits, work experience, and industry-related trips.
Liaise with teachers, parents/carers, and other professionals to meet learner needs.
Attend meetings, training, and CPD relevant to construction education and learner support.
Uphold safeguarding, equality, diversity, and inclusion policies.

About You
Organised, reliable, and proactive in maintaining a safe and supportive learning environment.
Experience or strong interest in construction and willingness to support practical learning.
Effective communication, organisational, and time-management skills.
Willing to submit an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Check (DBS).
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant qualification/experience.
Complete Child Protection Training. Promote and safeguard the welfare of all children and young person's they are responsible for, or come into contact with.
