We are looking to recruit an Apprentice Construction Trainee to join our Contracts Team on a permanent, full-time basis from our office in Derby in 2026.
About the Role
We are looking to recruit a Construction Trainee to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis from our office in Derby. Alongside office-based duties we will support you on a fully funded part-time course in construction, either through a level 3 qualification or through a fully funded degree.
This role is ideally suited to school or college leavers who have just completed, or are near to completing, their GCSEs (Level 2) or A Levels (Level 3). Alternatively, we would also consider candidates who do not have a background in construction but are enthusiastic, eager to learn and looking to develop a career in the industry.
You must have a minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English and Science. You will need a grade 5 or above in Maths, and will ideally hold (or be working towards) a full, UK driving license.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
As a Construction Trainee with BKHS, you will spend time in each department e.g. Estimating, Contracts, Commercial, Production, Design, Drawing Office, and Business Development, supporting with day-to-day tasks and duties to understand how each team works together to create outstanding construction projects.
You will gain an oversight of all roles within the business and be given the opportunity to choose your future career based on experience and the support of your mentor.
