Stevenage with Hybrid Working

At the IET, making our world a better place starts by creating a better place for our people. Here, you'll have more than just a job. Our work is exciting and challenging, connecting the people who solve the problems that matter. It means working with us has real meaning and impact, and you'll grow - professionally and personally - in ways you never thought possible. We're also making significant investments in our people, including providing a modern, vibrant workplace and embracing hybrid working.

What you'll be doing

As our Content Development Executive, you'll be at the heart of our storytelling efforts, crafting engaging, high-quality content that propels our communications, brand, and marketing campaigns to new heights. You'll be the mastermind behind writing, editing, and adapting content across various formats - think articles, social media posts, case studies, and videos. Your creativity will ensure our content resonates with our audience, aligns with our brand voice, and is optimised for digital channels. Plus, you'll play a crucial role in content planning, collaborating with key stakeholders, and supporting the final delivery of assets through image selection and basic design tasks using tools like Canva.

What we hope you can bring to the role

We're on the lookout for someone with a proven track record in content creation across digital and print platforms. Your exceptional writing and editing skills will shine as you adapt tone and style to fit different formats and audiences. A strong grasp of digital content optimisation, including SEO best practices, is a big plus, as is familiarity with social media platforms. Experience in conducting interviews, developing case studies, and collaborating with multiple teams will set you apart. You'll also need to be highly organised, proactive, and comfortable juggling multiple content projects independently.

We'd love to get to know you

Is Imposter syndrome creeping in? Don't worry - we'd rather hear from you this time than not hear from you at all! Read on for a little more information about the role; but also, keep in mind that we're open to discussing flexible ways of working, including reduced hours and working in an agile way, supported by a hybrid working framework that allows you to find the best place to do your best work.

A little more about the role

Create compelling content across various formats, including articles, blogs, case studies, newsletters, scripts, social media posts, and web pages. Write, edit, and adapt content to ensure it aligns with our brand guidelines and digital best practices. Optimise content for digital channels, incorporating SEO briefs and high-priority keywords to boost reach and engagement. Source and edit images to complement your written content, and undertake simple design tasks using tools like Canva. Conduct interviews with internal and external stakeholders to gather insights for content development. Contribute to publications by writing up articles, interviews, and thought-leadership pieces. Develop case studies by gathering information, interviewing relevant stakeholders, and tailoring content for different formats. Collaborate with brand, communications, and marketing teams to align content with broader campaign objectives. Support content planning efforts, managing timelines and ensuring consistent content delivery. Monitor content performance, tracking engagement metrics and identifying opportunities for optimisation. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to bring fresh ideas and approaches to content development.
