Installation is one of the leading trade media brands serving the professional audiovisual (AV) technology industry. Through its website, newsletters, virtual events, magazine, and digital publications, it informs decision makers (CEOs, CTOs, CIOs, Engineers, Technicians, Architects, AV Managers, heads of department) at systems integrators, distributors, and businesses such as Midwich, CDEC, Visavvi, Pure AV, AV-SPL, Integrated Systems Events, AVIXA, CEDIA, and more, on a daily basis. The brand also reaches end users (businesses that buy and use the installed AV equipment) in the corporate, education, retail and hospitality, media & entertainment, and live events sectors.

We are creating an exciting opportunity for an outstanding candidate to join the team as a Content Producer to work with the Editor on all aspects of Installation\xe2\x80\x99s content creation. Not only that, you will be entering a fast-moving and inspiring marketplace full of innovative technology and amazing people who put on some of the most breath-taking audio and visual showcases on the planet.

What you\'ll be doing...

As Content Producer, you will be the driving force behind Installation\xe2\x80\x99s daily engagement with the pro AV marketplace. Working with the Editor, you will write daily news content for the brand\xe2\x80\x99s website, curate and manage online content for the daily and weekly newsletters, manage social posts, and write feature articles, conduct interviews, and provide sub-editing duties for the magazine (eight issues per year).

You will have lots of interaction with the pro AV market and due to Installation\xe2\x80\x99s standing as one of the most trusted brands in the space, you will very quickly become an important and respected part of the AV community.

You may be required to attend trade shows and industry events under the direction of the Editor. Major trade shows include ISE, Barcelona; InfoComm, Las Vegas/Orlando; IBC, Amsterdam.

Working with the Editor, and the sales and production teams, you will be responsible for:

  • Writing daily news content for the website
  • Researching and creating regular feature content for the website
  • Curating and managing the daily and weekly newsletters
  • Writing at least one long-form feature for each issue of the magazine
  • Writing/managing content for other magazine articles
  • Managing the brand\xe2\x80\x99s social media accounts
  • Assisting the Editor with developing
Experience that will put you ahead of the curve...

We are looking for someone with strong editorial skills who has an appetite to grow their career with us. The experience and skills we are looking for, include:
  • Degree-level qualification in journalism or a relevant subject: English, Media, Broadcast, is preferred but not essential
  • Previous professional experience in writing for business-to-business (B2B) audiences
  • Experience with the workflow of producing a magazine (monthly/weekly/quarterly)
  • Experience with digital publications (ebooks, digital editions)
  • Strong communication skills, both internally and externally; the role will require brand representation at trade shows, client meetings, and industry events
  • Excellent proofreading skills
  • Ability to translate technical information and PR jargon into palatable, engaging stories
