Contract Manager (part Time)

Job Description

We are looking for a Contract Manager to negotiate, oversee and manage our sales and other contracts across the business. This is a permanent part time role.

You will take a proactive role in negotiating directly with potential and existing clients and their representatives, working closely with internal teams to ensure a comprehensive contract coverage across all customers, including our approach to maximising renewals, as well as across other business areas.

This is an essential role within the business, critical to ensure compliance with regulatory and best practise requirements. You will take a central role to not only ensure suitable contracts are in place but contractual audits are undertaken by the relevant teams and a proactive risk analysis is maintained and shared.

Your success in this role will be demonstrated by the by the contractual coverage across all clients, the level of risk, customer satisfaction with the contract processes and enabling commercial growth.

This is a hands-on role for a engaging, organised and process driven individual with a track record of negotiation and management. You will be encouraged to work proactively with suppliers, clients, stakeholders, industry actors and others.

A keen attention to detail, ability to engage, motivate, and lead, alongside strong organisational and communication skills will be critical towards ensuring you can achieve the goals and ambitions in place.

This role will work closely with other senior managers, and supported through internal and external training, providing the skills and development of your existing knowledge and experiences, allowing your continued growth and progression.

Key Responsibilities



Lead the contract management activities across the business, including for new and existing contracts, especially for customers. Ensure operational cohesion across impacted teams, alongside the wider business and externally. Engage on developing change management, including improvement planning and processes, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders. Lead on the negotiation of contracts, including the resolution of specific and complex issues, due to their potential impact or opportunity, including wider considerations of policies, risk and opportunity. Ensure the monitoring of contractual performance, including contractual audits being undertaken by teams in line with business or contractual requirements. Active contractual expiry and renewal monitoring on at least a monthly basis and take proactive steps to achieve and exceed targets. Take a leading role in instigating change management both within area you are directly responsible for and other impacted areas. Cultivate and manage relationships relating to securing and renewing contracts with customers, suppliers, their representatives, stakeholders, regulators and others within the wider industry. Maintain a working knowledge of relevant legal knowledge, identifying the implications of legislative, technological and other changes. Ensure the effective and comprehensive communication of legislative or regulatory requirements and changes. Develop an understanding of the contractual requirements of customers, refining our level of standardisation across our standard contracts. Understand and support the provision and negotiation of framework, tendered and standard forms of contract. Attending escalated, high-risk or high-profile ad-hoc to ensure the best possible outcomes are maintained. Provide reporting, dashboards, and performance data for management reporting purposes. Ensure effective policies, procedures, and risk management are upheld and reviewed. Identify potential knowledge and competency gaps, engaging on approaches to resolve these gaps. Representing Sycous, including in high profile and contentious issues, in public and regulatory arenas. Ensure personal time planning and engagement with others to ensure the best possible service provisions. Manage and escalate risks, concerns or incidents to the wider leadership team to support a comprehensive resolution. Champion integrity and performance across all responsible business areas and other areas. Supporting internal meetings across teams to ensure constant collaboration and improvement.

Competencies

Salary



38,250 per annum, pro-rata for part-time.

Location



Reporting office: Leeds

Based: Leeds or home, with flexible/hybrid working, travel may be required with potential overnight stays.
