Job Overview


We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Manager to support the site manager on a project in Gosforth, Newcastle. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities and a comprehensive understanding of project management, particularly within the construction sector. This role involves negotiating contract terms, managing health and safety, ensuring compliance with regulations, and maintaining effective communication with stakeholders to achieve project objectives. A knowledge of general building is essential and experience working on projects involving stone buildings is preferred. GNOC are looking for the right candidate to work for the company on a long term basis, moving to site to site as it develops its investment portfolio.

Responsibilities



Working hand in glove with a hand on site manager to achieve contract goals. Manage the entire contract lifecycle from initiation to completion, ensuring all contractual obligations are met. Negotiate terms and conditions with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to secure favourable agreements. Collaborate with teams to develop project timeline and ensure timely delivery of milestones. Maintain accurate records of contracts, amendments, and correspondence using Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Monitor project progress and performance, implementing corrective actions as necessary to keep projects on track. Provide leadership and guidance to team members, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages professional development. Conduct regular reviews of contracts to identify risks and opportunities for improvement in processes and outcomes. Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, providing updates on contract status and addressing any concerns promptly.

Strong management skills with the ability to lead diverse teams effectively. Excellent negotiation skills to secure advantageous contract terms. Exceptional time management abilities to prioritise tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment. Outstanding organisational skills to maintain documentation and manage multiple contracts simultaneously. Solid project management experience, particularly in the construction industry. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for clear interactions with stakeholders at all levels. Familiarity with IT systems relevant to contract management processes. Competence in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) for documentation and reporting purposes. An ability to use AutoCAD / CAD software to interpret drawings A valid driving licence is preferred for travel between sites.
