Make more impact with BRE We are seeking a highly experienced individual to lead the development and management of the Contract Management team at BRE. This new position will focus on establishing a contract management function at BRE that is capable of:

  • Maximising the value of our contracts through effective contract management practices.
  • Promoting best practices and value in contract management throughout the organisation.
  • Implementing the most effective contract management business model for all activities at BRE, whether it involves selling products and services to customers or procuring from suppliers.

Your role at BRE
  • Develop the BRE contract management strategy, policies, processes and procedures and ensure it is understood and implemented across the organisation, including the development of contract management plans.
  • Set the standards for contract management in BRE including developing guidance that clarifies what good contract management looks like and ensure that it is disseminated, understood and adopted by those managing BRE\xe2\x80\x99s contracts. The guidance should be applicable to different types and different values of contract.
  • Support contract managers across the organisation to manage their contracts well, with appropriate consistency within and between contracts, through guidance, training and best practice sharing.
  • Establish and chair a contract management forum at which best practice is shared and future contract requirements and procurement discussed.
  • Support contract managers with timely appropriate and practical advice when issues arise in their management of contracts. As a trusted advisor, build positive and constructive relationships with colleagues who manage contracts, providing senior support on a proactive basis and when issues arise.
  • Work with colleagues to develop their contract management skills in line with guidance, particularly in relation to contracts that span different business areas and locations, to ensure consistency of approach.
  • Experience of strategy development and of driving organisational change, including getting buy-in from colleagues for new ways of doing things.
  • Build positive constructive relationships with colleagues, many of whom will be peers or senior management, supporting them to improve their management of contracts, whilst respecting their experience. Provide support to managers recruiting to roles which include a contract management element as required.
Your profile
  • An experienced Contract Manager (qualified or non-qualified considered)
  • Thorough understanding of the contract management lifecycle, all component elements and contract management plans
  • The ability to negotiate contracts using standard terms and conditions taking into account pricing, risk and delivery
  • Experience of working closely with legal teams to ensure management of legal and contract/operational risk
  • Experienced in managing small and large contracts throughout the contract lifecycle
  • A confident communicator, both verbally and in writing, possessing strong influencing and negotiation skills with demonstrable experience of leading teams or functions through change to achieve overall goals
  • Knowledge and experience of using technological solutions to improve service delivery
  • Experience of involvement in large-scale procurement exercises
