In this role, you'll work closely with cross-functional teams such as group controllers, plant controllers, finance managers, and FP&A, while also collaborating with external advisors and auditors. You will contribute to our ongoing global transformation of financial and accounting systems and help drive process improvements and financial integrity across the organization.

This is a critical position within our Finance team, reporting directly to the Global Controller. Your expertise will be instrumental in supporting strategic decision-making and ensuring accurate, transparent financial reporting at every level.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee the month-end closing process for multiple UK entities, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting in line with corporate timelines and policies. Ensure full compliance with US GAAP for monthly reporting, and UK statutory accounting standards for annual filings. Lead the preparation of UK financial statements and manage the statutory audit process. Own and drive complex and technical accounting matters within the UK region, ensuring proper interpretation and application of policies. Lead the UK account reconciliation process and maintain accuracy and transparency across all accounts. Partner with the Global Controller and Finance leadership to implement new accounting standards and reporting requirements. Maintain data integrity across financial systems, identifying and resolving discrepancies through ongoing analysis. Design, implement, and monitor internal control procedures that support operational efficiency and compliance. Communicate compliance findings to stakeholders and recommend improvements; proactively identify areas for risk mitigation and process enhancements. Collaborate with the Corporate Accounting team to ensure correct treatment of complex transactions. Act as a key contributor in global and external audit processes. Prepare and analyze ad-hoc reports to support tax filings, audits, and management decision-making. Lead or support special projects and initiatives as directed by senior leadership. Manage, mentor, and develop local accounting staff, including recruitment, training, and performance evaluation.

Qualification

Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting. Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant, or equivalent qualification. Minimum of 10 years of professional experience, including significant exposure to financial reporting in US private equity-funded or publicly listed companies. Big Four accounting firm experience or equivalent is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of both UK GAAP and US GAAP, including a solid understanding of SOX 404 compliance requirements. Demonstrated experience managing global or regional accounting teams in fast-paced, multinational environments. Proven ability to lead and implement change in complex financial environments. In-depth background in consolidations and operational accounting. Familiarity with other European statutory accounting standards is a plus. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including spreadsheets and complex formulas.
