Job specifications - Controllership Associate 12 month FTC
This role is primarily to support the Financial Control team with their monthly/quarterly/yearly reporting and other local statutory reporting obligations.
Monthly GL close work, including journal posting, reconciliation preparation, reviews, monthly variance commentary. (The controllership team are responsible for several balance sheet reconciliations and the review of balance sheet reconciliations carried out by the shared service centre, you will be required to analyse the transactions and post corrections as necessary. Monthly variance commentary consists of month v month, Qtr v Qtr movement analysis and explanations, which will require investigation)
Preparing various accounts workings and Financial Statements documents in OneSource. (Preparation of the yearend financials and financial statements PDFs for 35+ entities, these will be split out over the team. Yearend financials currently prepared in excel, task requires posting audit adjustments in PeopleSoft our financial system - mostly US to UK GAAP corrections and timing differences)
Help with the planning and coordination of US & UK GAAP audit timetables, ensuring deadlines are met. (Helping gather audit support, self-managing incoming requests/workload, answering audit questions which may require investigating, liaise with internal teams for support and explanations)
Participation in the preparation of the UK Group VAT return. (Help with the quarter VAT returns, tasks may include reconciliation of the source documents to the GL, reviews of AP/AR invoices for correct VAT treatment, journal posting once return has been submitted, preparing monthly payment requests)
Supporting with AP queries/requests from both the local teams/business and the AP centre of excellence team in Gurugram. (Dealing with ad hoc queries, reviewing processes, identifying where improvements can be made, maintaining a close working relationship with both the business and the AP team).
Supporting the quarterly FCA returns. (Supporting on the quarterly FCA returns, requires preparation of quarterly financials for a regulated entity)
Ad hic tasks or projects as required.
Qualifications and experience
2+ years of experience, part to full qualification in ACA, ACCA, CIMA
Strong technical experience in UK GAAP, prior audit experience preferred.
Ability to work with large data sets.
IT literate
Experience of working effectively to meet multiple deadlines
