Join the Close Brothers Risk Team where you will manage a Controls Centre of Excellence (CCE), strengthening the bank's controls culture. Working as part of the Risk team our ideal team member will have previous experience in maintaining and improving core controls monitoring activities to ensure consistency, clarity, and accountability in control design and operation with excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES



Define and deliver the bank's control testing plan, facilitating the testing of all Material (MC) and Dependant Key (DKC) Controls annually. Create and own a process of control testing allocation, inclusive of both centrally tested controls and SME-led control testing across the bank. Deliver the centralised testing of controls and facilitate, track and report on the SME-led testing across the bank. Champion the Bank's control standards, ensuring education and uptake across the organisation. Maintain the Control Library framework, ensuring consistent articulation of controls across all business areas and embedding it as a key reference tool for the organisation. Create and maintain regular governance reporting, including key metrics, trends, and exceptions related to control performance and adherence to standards. Empower, nurture and engage team members in an inclusive culture through coaching, mentoring and team-development in order to increase the performance of the individual and the team.

as a line manager, you will be responsible for inspiring and motivating your team, as well as developing performance through coaching. You will encourage your team to take responsibility for their own personal development and provide support through regular feedback.

WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU HAVE/ARE:



A wealth of experience working in Financial Services, able to demonstrate secure knowledge in the operation of financial institutions. Proven experience in internal controls or compliance functions Strengths in data manipulation, analysis and insight conclusions. Ability to quickly learn and adapt in a fast-moving, changing environment Practical experience coordinating governance or attestation processes, including control testing Comfortable using GRC systems such as MetricStream or equivalent tools Problem-solving mindset with the ability to take initiative and work independently

IT IS NOT ESSENTIAL BUT IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU HAVE:



Relevant professional training or certifications in risk, compliance, or internal controls Experience or formal training in compliance or internal control frameworks thematic assurance Previous experience or training in Power BI or other data visualisation tools. An ambition to explore and support future digitisation initiatives, including the use of AI in testing.
