Job Description

The successful candidate will take a lead role in supporting the existing systems and network with special responsibilities for delivering 2 nd /3rdline technical support, installation, repair and maintenance of IP telephony, Bleep Systems, BT and other Carrier circuits and associated systems and manage mobile and other communication devices.



A full UK driving licence is essential.



The jobholder will also be expected to support users of other systems that are provided by the IT department and knowledge of those systems is also desirable.



The jobholder will have at least three years' experience of working in IT, with strong IT technical skills and the ability to manage and prioritise a busy workload. Experience of working in a clinical environment would be an advantage but is not essential. The jobholder will also have excellent customer service skills and thrive on working as part of a team. Excellent administrative, numerical and organisational skills are essential.



To analyse and interpret situation/information to identify and assess to resolve a range of problems/highly complicated issues: computer / communication system errors, application problems, user computer problems, network/datacentre/VoIP issues and data errors and fix within required IT SLA standards.



To aid Network support and troubleshooting. Identifying cable and/or active component failure; Work with network team to replace and upgrade Hubs and Switches as necessary and configure equipment as required.

Providing operational support for the converged voice and data and telephony services of the Trust across multiple sites.

To support any other activities and new services that are required for the provision of ICT/Telephony services across LGT and its partner sites.

Be available to give expert technical advice and assistance to user departments and departmental system managers

To provide first line maintenance of the complex multi system telephone exchanges, multi-site and any additional external and internal line plant to the Trust.



Diagnose and clear system faults as they occur specially the Urgent & Non-Urgent alarms on a 24/7 basis, calling 3 rd parties out of hours as required. Participate in an on call rota for out of hours cover on a regular or emergency basis.
