The Role
You will manage a capped caseload of up to 60 residential conveyancing matters from instruction through to post-completion. The position suits someone who thrives in a client-facing environment and enjoys working within a busy, well-structured team. There may also be opportunities to support junior colleagues and contribute to the smooth running of the department.
Key Responsibilities
Case Management & Client Service
Manage a personal caseload including sales, purchases, remortgages, and related transactions.
Maintain proactive and clear communication with clients and third parties.
Keep all stakeholders updated throughout each matter.
Prepare and review legal documentation with strong attention to detail.
Deliver excellent client care while meeting deadlines.
Legal Work & Compliance
Conduct due diligence including title reviews, enquiries, and search assessments.
Identify risks and escalate where needed.
Manage funds securely, oversee completions, and prepare financial statements.
Handle SDLT submissions and registration applications.
Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal standards.
Stay informed about developments in residential conveyancing.
Team Support & Collaboration
Support junior colleagues as required.
Work collaboratively to maintain smooth departmental workflows.
Contribute to a positive, modern working culture.
Person Specification
Essential
Experience managing your own residential conveyancing caseload.
Knowledge of freehold, leasehold, new build, and remortgage matters.
Strong communication and client service skills.
Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload.
High attention to detail and good risk awareness.
Ability to work well under pressure.
Desirable
Experience with shared ownership transactions.
Qualified Solicitor, Licensed Conveyancer, or CILEx.
Familiarity with the LEAP case management system.
Experience supporting or mentoring junior staff.
