Overview

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Cook to join our care home. The ideal candidate will have a strong background cooking and has good communication skills with out residents with a keen interest in food preparation and meal preparation. As a Cook, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality dishes.

Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards. Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety regulations and kitchen hygiene standards. Assist in the planning of menus, taking into consideration dietary requirements and seasonal ingredients. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including proper storage of ingredients and equipment. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service. Monitor stock levels of ingredients and report any shortages to the kitchen manager. Help train new kitchen staff on cooking techniques and food safety practices.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Cook in a restaurant or similar kitchen environment. Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, food safety, and hygiene practices. Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in food preparation. A passion for cooking and creativity in meal presentation. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed.
