Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Cook to join our team at Acrewood day nursery providing breakfast, lunch and snacks for children. As a Cook, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently while delivering high-quality dishes to our children. This is an exciting opportunity to work independently in a small community based day nursery with an attractive day time working pattern

Duties

Design a nutritious and tasty menu suitable for children Prepare, cook and serve a variety of dishes in line with the menu Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including equipment and utensils. Monitor inventory and make orders to meet the needs of the service Ensure allergies and cultural preferences are adhered to in menu planning and food preparation

Experience

Previous experience as a Cook or a strong interest and skills in this area Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques An awareness of food safety techniques or a willingness to undertake this training Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality. Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues A passion for cooking and creativity in meal presentation is highly desirable.
