Main purpose of job:



Person required to join our busy kitchen team in a 54 bedroomed hotel catering for guests with disabilities. Person must be able to work efficiently on their own, with the assistance of our Kitchen Porters. Preparing fresh meals for our guests for both breakfast and evening meals on a buffet style service, with lunch and bar snacks cooked to order during the day. The hotel can cater for up to 100 guests.

Salary:



Starting at 14.00 to 15.00 per hour rising after successful probationary period.

Hours and Days



We run a shift pattern of 4 days on 4 days off working from 7.30am to 7.30pm

Main tasks of job:



1. Preparation of Breakfast and evening meal in time for service starting - Evening meal has a starter, 3 or 4 different options for mains and freshly prepared cakes and desserts all made in-house. This is a buffet service.

2. Preparation of lunch which is made to order from our bar snack menu.

3. Making sure that the kitchen has the required stock to operate for the next few days using our preferred suppliers.

4. Making sure that all deliveries are inspected and put away by following strict stock rotation methods. Any temperature control deliveries must meet the required temperature that they should be stored at.

5. Day dot all food items, as appropriate.

6. Ensure all temperature checks are carried out and recorded.

7. Cleaning must be carried out daily and all cleaning schedules, opening and closing procedures must be adhered to.

8. Understand and follow the appropriate sections of the H&S Act 1974, The Food Safety Regulations and understand COSHH regulations.

9. Understand and follow all company rules.

Skills and qualifications:

Must have at least 2 years of experience.

Have a City & Guilds 706/1 & 706/2 qualification or an equivalent NVQ.

Have knowledge of special dietary requirements and allergies.

Be able to work alone.
