Your Role in Building Brighter Futures



As a Cook at Sir Bernard Lovell School, you will play a key role in delivering Futura's mission of "Building the brightest future for all, enabling every individual to flourish". We are looking for someone who is passionate about our values and making a positive impact on our community.

Wellsway School is a well-established secondary school in Keynsham with a strong academic tradition and inclusive ethos. It provides students with a high-quality education and a wide range of opportunities to develop their interests, leadership skills, and character.

As Cook, you will:



Support the Catering Manager in delivering high quality and efficient catering services aligned with Trust Zest Catering standards.

Prepare and serve food in line with agreed menus, recipes and nutritional standards.

Ensure excellent food presentation, portion control, and prompt service at all times.

Maintain high standards of hygiene and food safety, ensuring compliance with regulations and policies.

Assist in stock control, placing orders, and monitoring supplies.

Support with staff training, allocation of duties, and ensuring all team members follow agreed standards.

Promote a polite, friendly and personal service to all customers, ensuring total customer satisfaction.

Work proactively with the Catering Manager to achieve financial and operational targets.

Actively contribute to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

What You'll Bring to Futura

Qualifications:

Sound level of secondary education (essential).

Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (essential).

Experience:

Previous catering experience (essential).

Experience within a school or college environment (desirable).

Knowledge of health & safety and good kitchen hygiene practice (essential).

Skills & Behaviours:

Energy, enthusiasm and a flexible approach to work.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Positive and reliable with strong spoken communication skills.

Ability to follow instructions and comply with Trust Food Safety Policy.

Capable of undertaking physically demanding work and coping under pressure.
