Duties

Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards. Assist in meal preparation, ensuring all ingredients are fresh and properly stored. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety regulations. Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during busy periods. Monitor food quality during preparation and cooking processes, making adjustments as necessary. Support the serving team by ensuring that dishes are plated correctly and presented attractively. Participate in regular training sessions to enhance culinary skills and knowledge of food safety practices.

Qualifications

Previous kitchen experience is essential, with a strong emphasis on food preparation and cooking. Culinary experience or relevant qualifications in hospitality or culinary arts are highly desirable. Familiarity with food safety standards and practices is crucial for maintaining hygiene in the kitchen. Experience in a Care Home environment is advantageous, particularly in fast-paced settings. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team are required. A passion for cooking and creating delicious meals that delight guests is essential for success in this role.
