Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in culinary arts and food preparation, with a keen understanding of food safety practices. As a Cook, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently, while delivering high-quality meals to our residents and supporting our kitchen staff.

Responsibilities

Prepare, cook and serve a variety of dishes, according to established recipes and standards Assist in meal preparation, ensuring that all ingredients are fresh and properly stored Home baking and traditional home cooking Maintain high standard levels of cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen, adhering to food safety regulations at all times Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours Help in the planning of menus and daily specials, considering seasonal ingredients and customer preferences Monitor food stock levels and assist in ordering supplies, as needed Provide shift cover, as and when required Participate in training new kitchen staff on cooking techniques and safety practices

Requirements

Proven experience as a Cook in a nursing home or similar setting is preferred, however, not essential Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, food preparation, and presentation skills Food Safety Certificate (preferably Level 2 or higher) Familiarity with food safety standards and regulations Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team Ability and understanding to complete daily record keeping paperwork A passion for cooking and creating delicious meals that delight our residents

Pay: 13.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
