Job Description

Here at The Firs Care Home we are looking for a hardworking, dedicated cook for a minimum 6 month cover. The contracted hours are 25 hours a week working 0900 - 1400, Monday to Friday. Longer shift hours may be available to the right candidate.

In this role, you will be responsible for preparing nutritious and delicious meals for our residents, ensuring their dietary needs are met while creating a welcoming dining experience.

Responsibilities

Plan and prepare balanced meals that cater to the dietary needs of residents. Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with health and safety regulations. Manage kitchen inventory, including ordering supplies and maintaining stock levels. Collaborate with care staff to understand residents' preferences and dietary restrictions. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area.

Requirements

Proven experience in a kitchen or in a similar culinary role. Strong knowledge of food safety standards and regulations. Excellent cooking skills with a passion for meal preparation. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Good communication skills to interact with staff and residents.
