Job Overview

Experienced cook required to join our friendly team at Footherley Hall care home near Lichfield. Applicants must have a real passion for food and be fully familiar with catering within the care home environment.

This position would suit a person looking to support a friendly talented team with a positively family like attitude.

The position requires a cook with talent and is totally comfortable with cooking homestyle fresh food from scratch for 50 residents.

A preference will be given to applicants that can demonstrate the ability to prepare fresh home cook food from scratch.

Also the ability to bake cakes and decorate birthday cakes .

Duties

To deputise in the chef managers absence.
Prepare and cook quality meals according to established recipes and standards.

Oversee kitchen operations, ensuring all food preparation is conducted in compliance with food safety regulations.
Assist chef manager in ordering and stock control.

Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, adhering to health and safety guidelines.
Collaborate with care home staff to ensure seamless service and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a cook in a similar role within the care environment.
Strong knowledge of kitchen operations and food preparation techniques.

Familiarity with food safety standards and regulations.
Ability to work effectively as a team.
A true passion for cooking home quality meals for the residents.

Culinary qualifications or certifications are desirable but not essential.
