Job Description

Purpose of the post:



The Cook will provide a full catering service in line with the 'School Food Plan' guidelines, preparing nutritious and appealing meals for students, staff, and visitors. The role involves maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness in accordance with Environmental Health requirements, including completing Safer Food Better Business (SFBB) paperwork daily.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and serve meals on time, ensuring high quality and nutritional standards are met.

Maintain strict hygiene, cleanliness, and health & safety standards in the kitchen, including management of allergens and dietary needs.

Assist in menu preparation and contribute ideas to support the school's catering goals.

Support student cooking activities as part of enrichment and the preparation for adulthood curriculum.

Help with stock rotation, food storage, and keeping kitchen supplies organized.

Assist with ordering food, equipment, and other kitchen resources as needed.

Participate in themed days or events, which may occasionally include evening or weekend shifts (with notice).

Support the upkeep of kitchen equipment and report any issues to the line manager.

Maintain personal hygiene and a professional appearance at all times.

General Duties:

Support and follow ES policies and procedures.

Respond promptly to requests from the wider team and senior leadership.

Manage your workload effectively and meet deadlines.

Commit to ongoing professional development and training.

Participate in appraisal and team meetings.

Be willing to travel occasionally between sites.

Attend company events such as the annual ES Team Awards.

Live and uphold ES Company Values.

Perform other reasonable duties as assigned.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: From 18,925.14 per year

Expected hours: 32.5 per week
