, to work at the newly opened Forest Lodge Nursing Home, based in Forest Gate. This is a
full time
role, working Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm including bank holidays (at an enhanced rate).
Duties of the Cook position include:
Prepare nutritional meals (lunch and dinner), following a menu plan, whilst meeting the needs of our culturally and diet specific residents
Daily cleaning and maintenance of the kitchen and equipment
Maintain inventory of kitchen equipment
Utilise knowledge of HACCP and current food regulations
Management of food ordering and stock rotation
Interaction with service users to reflect their food choices
The successful Cook will have
Good and proven communication skills are essential
Must be able to communicate verbally with vulnerable adults
Able to work under own initiative
Flexible with hours of work
Willingness to learn about CQC/care standards
Must have a minimum of food hygiene level 2 certificate and previous experience of food preparation in a commercial/domestic/hospital setting
