Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have experience in a kitchen and care home environment and possess strong culinary skills. As a Cook, you will be responsible for meal preparation, ensuring food safety standards are met, and contributing to a positive dining experience for our residents.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook a variety of meals according to established recipes and menu specifications. Assist in the planning and preparation of daily specials and seasonal menus. Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including proper storage of ingredients. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow and timely service. Help train new kitchen staff in food preparation techniques and safety practices. Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and assist with ordering as needed.

Requirements

Previous experience in a kitchen and care home setting is preferred. Strong culinary skills with knowledge of meal preparation techniques. Understanding of food safety regulations and best practices. Understanding of IDDSI Levels and how to prepare these. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required.
