Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a strong understanding of food safety and preparation techniques. As a Cook, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality meals in a fast-paced kitchen environment, ensuring that every dish meets our standards of excellence.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menus. Ensure all food safety and hygiene standards are strictly adhered to during food preparation and cooking processes. Assist in meal preparation, including chopping, slicing, and marinating ingredients as required. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including utensils, equipment, and work surfaces. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service and efficient workflow during busy periods. Help develop new menu items and contribute creative ideas for seasonal dishes. Monitor stock levels of ingredients and report any shortages to the kitchen manager.

Experience

Previous experience in a culinary or restaurant environment is preferred but not essential. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food preparation is highly desirable. Strong culinary skills with the ability to follow recipes accurately while also being creative in meal preparation. Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen setting. Excellent teamwork skills with a willingness to help colleagues as needed.
