Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Cook to support our existing chef. The ideal candidate will have a background in food preparation and a keen understanding of food safety practices. As a Cook, you will play a vital role in delivering delicious meals that meet our high standards of quality and presentation. This position requires a commitment to excellence in the kitchen and the ability to work collaboratively with other kitchen staff.

Duties

Prepare and cook a variety of meals according to established recipes and menus. Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety regulations and standards. Assist in the planning of menus, taking into consideration dietary restrictions and preferences. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including proper storage of ingredients and equipment. Monitor food stock levels and assist with inventory management to ensure availability of necessary supplies. Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient meal service during busy periods. Help train new kitchen staff on cooking techniques and food safety protocols.

Skills

Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations. Proficiency in meal preparation techniques, including cooking methods, seasoning, and presentation. Experience working in a restaurant or culinary environment is highly desirable. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen setting while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently. A team player who can communicate effectively with colleagues in the kitchen environment.
