Job Description

The Linen Tearoom is onsite at Laganvale Farm (open farm and indoor play centre venue). We are looking for someone who is capable of helping to grow the tearoom's popularity for breakfasts, light lunches, coffees and desserts. We therefore require a person with a good combination of cooking ability, stock/kitchen management experience and drive. You will be an experienced cook capable of preparing delicious meals according to menu and specification sheets. A team player with initiative and excellent planning and organisational skills to maintain an efficient, hygienic and well-organised kitchen for our tearoom.

Duties & Responsibilities:



Setting up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment

Prepare ingredients for use in cooking (chopping & peeling vegetables, cutting meat, etc.)

Bake scones, part-baked goods e.g. croissants, bagels, etc

Monitor stock and place orders as required from several established suppliers

Adhere to company and government health and hygiene procedures and follow monitoring procedures

Ensure all food and other items are stored appropriately

Check quality of ingredients

Maintain a high standard of cleanliness throughout the kitchen and storerooms.

Requirements



At least 1 year's proven experience in a similar position

Experience in using cutting tools, cookware and bakeware

Experience in ordering from and dealing with suppliers

Knowledge of various cooking styles, procedures and methods

Able to follow instruction in cooking and delivering well prepared meals

Ability to adapt meals to accommodate customer preferences

Able to cope well under pressure - dealing with multiple orders at once

Proven knowledge of allergies

Proven knowledge of dietary needs e.g. vegan, vegetarian, pescatarian, etc.

Ability to set up and follow sanitation procedures

Excellent customer service and communication skills

NVQ level 2 Food Preparation and Cooking or equivalent

Basic Food Hygiene

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From 13.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 35 per week
