iMultiply are delighted to be engaged in the recruitment of a Manager for the Virtual Finance Function team of one of the UK's leading Accountancy firms, based in Glasgow.The CompanyThe firm is a tech-enabled business critical services group providing audit and accounting, tax, payroll and HR, outsourcing and advisory solutions globally.The RoleTypically, you will collaborate with clients to understand their unique business challenges and complexities, provide a tailored range of accounting services and capture their greatest opportunities so they can focus on the areas of activity that matter most.The role will be diverse in nature, and we are looking for an individual who can draw upon their previous skills, knowledge, and experience to provide specialist advice to existing finance teams. This position will play a key role in managing financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control for projects. The role is client facing and will ideally suit an enthusiastic team player who have both industry and professional experience. Someone who can apply technical best practice to the realities of industry.Day to day you will be responsible for;

  • Provide a full range of accountancy services to a portfolio of clients, such as:
  • Overseeing preparation of management accounts
  • Managing client relationships
  • Statutory reporting and review
  • Manage one-off projects at the request of the client.
  • Collaborate with operational teams to understand financial impacts of operational decisions and assist with financial planning for new projects.
  • Review and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including local tax regulations and international financial reporting standards (IFRS) relevant to the sector.
  • Coach members of the team in the preparation of IFRS and UK GAAP compliant financial statements
  • Review and finalisation of IFRS and UK GAAP compliant financial statements
  • Support the preparation for audits, liaising with external auditors and ensuring that financial records are complete, accurate, and compliant with legal requirements.
  • Implement financial controls and processes to ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial data and reporting.
  • Providing commercial finance insights to our clients and our team
  • Lead on the delivery of finance functions to our clients , new and existing.
  • Deliver for clients one-off finance projects such as system insights, process and control reviews and other financial information remediation exercises.
  • Implement new accounting standards into the standard financial processes of companies (leasing, revenue recognition, share based payments etc)
  • Determine resource requirements ensuring that the team has relevant experience, support and skills to ensure an unrivalled client experience.
  • Lead, motivate and coach all members of the team, aiding development of both technical and client management skills and identifying any training needs.
  • Build strong and credible relationships to understand the clients' priorities, providing them with trusted and valued advice, ensuring delivery by all agreed deadlines.
  • Collaborate effectively, embrace diverse perspectives, and work holistically with stakeholders including, different business areas, the wider professional network, and the community.
  • Be a vital part the VFF management team, involved with the day-to-day operations of the team, ensuring financial targets and deadlines are met and assist with delivering the strategic objectives of the department and wider firm.
The Person
  • Fully qualified with experience of working within practice or industry.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge across both UK GAAP and IFRS and other local GAAPs.
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting standards, tax regulations, and financial reporting practices
  • A passionate problem solver, bringing solutions, making recommendations, and driving implementation of agreed approach
  • Experience of handling a client portfolio with strong client engagement
  • Team player with the necessary interpersonal skills to build professional relationships with clients and internal stakeholders
  • A growth mindset and continuous desire for lifelong learning
  • Experience in utilising technology, cloud accounting software and implementing client-driven solutions
