Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced kitchen environment. As an Assistant Cook, you will support the head cook and kitchen staff in meal preparation, ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation of meals according to established recipes and menus. Help with the cooking of various dishes, ensuring proper food safety and hygiene practices are followed. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing utensils and equipment. Support the head cook in managing inventory and ordering supplies as needed. Participate in food presentation and plating to enhance the dining experience. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations during service hours. Follow all health and safety regulations related to food handling and storage.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant environment is preferred but not essential. Knowledge of food safety practices and culinary techniques is advantageous. Ability to work effectively under pressure in a busy kitchen setting. Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. A genuine interest in cooking and willingness to learn new skills in meal preparation. Flexibility to work various shifts, days work only including weekends as required.

Pay: 10,000.00-20,000.00 per year

Expected hours: 16 - 32 per week
