Abington Avenue United Reformed Church is looking to recruit a Coordinator for our Child Contact Centre.



Our Child Contact Centre offers supported contact in a safe, friendly and neutral place, where children of separated families can spend time with a parent who no longer lives with them. The centre is an accredited member of the National Association for Child Contact Centres.

We are looking to engage an enthusiastic, committed individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to take this vital service forward. The ideal candidate will be able to organise priorities and work independently. You must be able to demonstrate confidence in your IT skills and an understanding of the importance of data protection and confidentiality. You will be the first contact for all referrals and enquiries from families and professional bodies to the service. You will follow established procedures to progress these referrals to contact sessions or referral to other agencies. As you will be working closely with families, often at a time when they are attending courts or experiencing parental conflict, you must be confident and able to deal professionally and calmly with calls and emails.

Co-ordinator training and annual safeguarding training provided by the National Association of Child Contact Centres (NACCC) will be mandatory for the successful applicant. You will also need to complete the mandatory NACCC training programme. The successful application will be required to have an enhanced DBS certificate.

This post will be for

hours per week @13.65 per hour. These hours are to be scheduled by arrangement over three days one of which must be Friday.

The CCC Coordinator is employed by Abington Avenue United Reformed Church (AAURC) to oversee the day-to-day running of the Child Contact Service, to manage the administrative systems associated with the contact sessions and to collate relevant statistical data. The post holder will ensure that all statutory obligations are met with regard to safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults during the operation of the service and that the service is safe, efficient and of high quality. The Coordinator reports to and is supported by the CCC Management Team which in turn is responsible to the Elders of AAURC. The AAURC Child Contact Centre is an accredited member of the National Association of Child Contact Centres and follows their guidance in matters of policy and procedure.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES



1 To be the first point of contact for all referrals and enquiries to the service and undertake all administration resulting from these interactions

2 To organise, prioritise and manage workload under your own initiative with a creative and flexible approach.

3 To liaise with head of the Management Team in regard to the management and needs of the CCC environment.

4 To ensure a safe environment for children and best practice with regard to safeguarding/child protection. The safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults is a priority for this service.

5 To plan and provide contact for parents and families in line with court orders, referring agencies and services.

6 To complete all risk assessments in relation to visiting families in advance of the commencement of contact sessions.

7 To manage the CCC procedures in relation to, referrals, record keeping, statistical returns, and training records for volunteers.

8 To attend CCC Management Team meetings and other relevant meetings as required.

9 To submit a quarterly headline report

10 To attend relevant training as agreed with The Management Team

11 To ensure the CCC operates in a way to facilitate the implementation of the CCC and NACCC policies in relation to volunteers/practitioners, DBS, Child Protection, Health and Safety, Equal Opportunities, Domestic Violence, Complaints, Confidentiality, Rehabilitation of Offenders and any other relevant policies.

12 To keep abreast of national developments via the NACCC website and share information with the Management Team and volunteers as appropriate.

13 To plan the delivery of the annual training programme for volunteers and communicate the schedule to the volunteers. You will be required to attend the volunteer training sessions.

14 To compile and submit the quarterly statistics to NACCC

15 To compile and submit the portfolio of evidence for reaccreditation to NACCC (every three years)

16 To ensure that the Policies are reviewed at least annually.

17 To comply with GDPR ensuring that deleting, archiving, storage and back up systems are regularly and correctly performed.

18 To act as advocate for the service and represent its aims and ideals.

19 To contribute to the production of advertising materials and the website to promote the service to funders, families, professionals and other stakeholders.

20 To contribute to the application process for the NACCC grant annually

In addition to the job set out in this job description the worker may, from time to time, be required to undertake additional or other duties necessary within his or her capabilities and status to meet the needs of the AAURC Child Contact Centre Service.

Person Specification



Qualifications



Essential:

GCSE English and Maths - grade 4 or above.

Desirable:

Appropriate qualifications or experience of working with children and families NVQ level 3 in childcare/child development.

An understanding of the family court system

Skills.



Essential:

Excellent communication and interpersonal and organisational skills.

Ability to provide clear written information

Ability to support families with signposting to appropriate agencies

Competent in Excel, Outlook, Word.

Knowledge of safeguarding children and child protection, with an understanding of key

risk factors.

Excellent time management and ability to identify priorities.

Experience:



Minimum of one year's experience working in the field of children and families.

Experience of administration and data management

Experience of working in a similar role.

Personal Qualities:



Ability to work closely and non-judgmentally with other people, showing an understanding of boundaries and a commitment to equal opportunities and anti-discriminatory working.
