The Exciting Role



A new and exciting opportunity has become available for a Counter Supervisor to join our Refectory team on a permanent basis. The role involves working 32 hours per week, on a 40 week per year contract.



This is a hands-on role, involving supervising the counter and ensuring excellent customer service, whilst maintaining high standards of food hygiene in a fast-paced environment. Ideal candidates will have experience of working in a food service environment, a friendly and approachable manner and a passion for working in a team within a highly dynamic setting.



The role will be based at our Nelson & Colne College campus, but travel to other sites may be required.



What You Will Be Doing:



Overseeing the front-of-house operations of the busy college Refectory, ensuring efficient and effective service, maintaining high standards of food hygiene and customer service. Assisting with the serving of meals, ensuring correct portion control and allergen awareness. Assisting with general kitchen duties including cleaning. Taking responsibility for regular ordering and stock control. Support the Catering Manager with maximising profitability within the college catering service. For example: upselling, minimising waste, portion and stock control. Responding to any day-to-day technical point of sale issues which may arise.

What We Are Looking For:



Experience of working within a busy, high volume, catering operation. Experience in customer service. Possess excellent communication and relationship building skills. A team player who can display initiative, be positive and enthusiastic. Basic food hygiene certificate. Demonstrate a commitment to equality and diversity, customer service and quality assurance. Suitability to work with children, young people and/or vulnerable adults. Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
