We are looking for a Registered Manager that holds a Level 3 in BSL to support our Adults in a residential home setting in Mid Devon. These individuals are profoundly deaf, and need support in their day to day life.
All of the young adults use British Sign Language to communicate and all communication is supported by AAC devices and visual imagery.

This is a 5 bed Home where you will:
Develop Comprehensive Care Plans: Ensure each adult has a tailored plan that addresses their care, education, social, emotional, cultural, therapeutic, and health needs.
Develop a great team: Working with the recruitment teams support, bring in the right people for your home to ensure your success. Complete company induction and personal development plans, retaining a strong team to ensure familiar faces for the young people.
Foster Consultation: Develop systems to consult the adults about the care they receive.
Allocate Key Workers: Assign a Key Worker to each Adult to implement their care plan.
Maintain High Standards: Establish and monitor high-quality care standards in line with the fundamental standards and the Home's Statement of Purpose.
Handle Complaints and Concerns: Take responsibility for addressing any complaints or safeguarding concerns.
Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work in partnership with parents, carers, and other professionals to promote the welfare of the Adults.
Participate in Meetings: Attend and contribute to care planning and review meetings as appropriate.
Embrace a safe culture: Ensure the Adults in your service are cared for at the best possible standard.
Effective Commercial Management of your home: Ensure you manage your home aligned to budget expectations.
Essential Requirements and Experience
British Sign Language Level 3
Passionate about making the difference to the lives of the Adults within the home.
Relevant Experience: At least 2 years in a position related to residential care of children, young people and Adults. With at least 1 year in a supervisory role within the last 5 years.
Qualifications: Level 3 in Children's or Adults Residential Care is essential. Level 5 in Leadership and Management for Residential settings is preferred at point of application, if not then you must be enrolled on the Level 5 within 6 months of starting in post.
Knowledge: Understanding of CQC and Adult legislation, and regulatory requirements.
Skills: Efficient in; planning, organizing, budget control, resource allocation, and team leadership.
Communication: Confidence in effective spoken and written communication.
Understanding Trauma: Knowledge of the needs of children with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties, including managing challenging behaviour.
Driving License: Full UK required.
