Overview of Responsibilities
The Creative Artworker is responsible for producing high-quality artwork across a wide range of digital and print projects, ensuring brand consistency across fundraising and awareness campaigns, social media, program and event materials.
In addition to core artworking duties--such as designing event agenda layouts, speaker graphics, and PowerPoint presentations--you'll have the opportunity to contribute creatively by developing ideas, mock-ups, and final assets for new initiatives and sub-brands. This role offers an exciting chance to bring fresh energy and precision to a variety of projects that span the organization's annual calendar.
Key Responsibilities/Essential Functions
This role has three (3) core areas of ownership, the responsibilities involved include, but are not limited to:
Creative Artwork
Translate project briefs into visually compelling, accurate, and creative materials that align with brand standards and objectives.
Contribute to the design and development of the organization's digital marketing platforms, including the website and social media channels.
Collaborate with the Design & Communications department, as well as the wider team, on projects of all scales--ensuring all outputs are purposeful, high-quality, and fit for their intended use.
Work collaboratively within the design team to complete briefs efficiently, supporting colleagues and managing shared workloads, particularly during busy event periods.
Respond to day-to-day design requests submitted through the graphics ticketing system, such as creating internal and external presentation materials and other supporting assets.
Project Focus
Take ownership of graphic content for assigned programs and projects, ensuring deliverables meet both creative and strategic goals.
Maintain and apply brand guidelines to uphold visual consistency and cohesion across all materials.
Develop and implement creative concepts that reflect the organization's mission and help strengthen and differentiate its visual presence.
Manage projects from concept through delivery, ensuring design excellence, attention to detail, and timely completion.
Departmental Processes
Work closely with the Creative & Digital Communications Director to ensure all projects are delivered on schedule, within scope, and to the highest standard.
Support structured workflows and briefing processes through the ticketing system to optimize design production and project management.
Respond promptly and clearly to design requests, maintaining effective communication and alignment with project objectives.
Foster a collaborative and creative team culture, contributing to a consistent standard of excellence across all visual output.
Work Environment
Under normal conditions, this role is a fully remote position, working from home. However, due to the international nature of the Society's work, staff may require regular travel to company events, meetings, and conferences as well as some weekend work.
Requirements
Education & Knowledge
Bachelor's degree in graphic design, motion graphics, or a related field, or an up-to-date portfolio showcasing relevant skills.
Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Proven experience of working in a creative art working/design position.
Mac literate / a Mac user.
Communication & Interpersonal Skills
Excellent planning, organizational, and multitasking abilities, with the capacity to prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines.
An eye for detail, accuracy, and consistency.
The ability to work in a virtual team setting and work independently.
A conceptual thinker who approaches work logically and systematically.
Proven ability to take ownership of projects, from brief to final delivery.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with quick turnarounds.

Be a collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal/communication skills.
Interest in Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) or Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder (HSD) is a plus but not required.

Work Environment and Travel Requirements
Eligible to work in the UK without sponsorship.
Reliable internet connection for remote work, video calls, and cloud-based collaboration.
Ability to attend one in-person retreat annually in the UK.
Willingness to travel to other in-person meetings and events as needed
