To support the Co-CEOs to develop, coordinate and facilitate creative engagement projects and activity that meet The Spring's purpose and vision. These include, but are not limited to, participation, creative and heritage projects, and artist development activity. The Creative Programmes Assistant is a key role within the team enabling The Spring to produce and deliver high quality creative and cultural opportunities for the people of Havant Borough and wider area.
Hours:
22.5 hours per week worked flexibly within The Spring's regular office hours. Includes weekend and school holiday working in accordance with project needs.

Responsibilities:
Participation:
Coordinate the programming and delivery of cross-art form participatory activity including workshops and masterclasses, participatory exhibitions, R&D and performance opportunities and interactive heritage activities, working with the Creative Director to achieve financial and engagement targets. This includes:
i. liaising with and contracting freelance artists, workshop leaders and life models as required
ii. confirming dates, rooms, sessions and materials
iii. attending sessions, gathering feedback and being a face of The Spring for participants
iv. running the participation budget
v. liaising with the Marketing & Box Office team to contact participants with information including reminders to re-book
vi. liaising with the Operations team to ensure information is shared, rooms are prepared and we provide an excellent customer experience
vii. collating marketing information and supporting marketing activity
Support the development and delivery of participatory activity for families, children and young people including wraparound activity to shows and exhibitions, workshops, and programmes of work.
Act as the main contact for schools and community groups, building mutually beneficial relationships.
Coordinate schools engagement activity and workshops, working with the Creative Director to develop new sessions to complement the national curriculum and to link with The Spring's performance and heritage programmes.
Projects:
Support the Co-CEOs on the development and delivery of cross-art form and heritage projects that are delivered within the Spring and across the Borough, including liaising with companies and artists, partners and undertaking administrative duties as required.
Coordinate the practical delivery of projects, including working with the Operations team to ensure that appropriate venues and facilities are used and that the audience/participant experience is prioritised.
Attend outreach events, managing logistics, coordinating volunteers and acting as the face of the organisation.
Programme administration:
Support the Creative Director to deliver a high quality exhibitions programme for The Spring, including developing themes and ideas, liaising with artists/partners, contracting, planning layouts, overseeing budgets, ordering and commissioning displays and exploring presentation opportunities.
Work with the Operations team to ensure appropriate hangs and take downs of exhibitions, including risk assessments.
Manage the exhibitions@ inbox.
Work with the Marketing team to market, raise the profile and increase engagement with the creative programmes activity.
Other Duties:
Monitoring, collating and evaluating all attendance, footprint and demographic data evidence for all outreach, heritage and participation / education projects and activities, working alongside the wider team and freelancers as required.
Work with the rest of the staff to ensure The Spring provides an excellent experience for all customers
Attend training and briefing sessions as required
Perform other duties as may from time to time be reasonably required by the Directors
Abide by The Spring's policies and procedures at all times
Attend regular staff meetings
This role requires a current DBS check. This job description may be subject to review in consultation with the post holder in the light of the changing needs of The Spring Arts & Heritage Centre.
Person Specification:
Essential
A passion for arts, creativity and culture.
A commitment to engaging, serving and working with a broad range of diverse audiences and participants.
Confidence to act as an ambassador for The Spring, especially with new audiences to our outreach programme and our participation programmes.
A willingness to work flexibly across a number of locations and at hours to suit The Spring's programmes. This will include evening, weekend and holiday working.
Excellent communication skills and attention to detail (both verbal and written).
Competency with the use of Microsoft packages in an office environment.
A commitment to The Spring's mission, core beliefs and a positive attitude and a 'can do' flexible approach.
An ability to multi-task, work under pressure and be organised.
A good team player.
An understanding of how to work positively in a team of staff and with volunteers.
Desirable
Experience of creating and delivering arts based projects and activities, in a variety of settings.
Experience of working or volunteering in an arts centre, theatre or museum.
Experience of planning, creating or delivering exhibitions.
Up to date knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures.
Experience with artists and practitioners in different mediums - visual, performance and heritage.
