detail-oriented and proactive Credit Control & Finance Administrator
to join our finance team. This role is responsible for managing credit accounts, supporting day-to-day finance administration, ensuring the timely collection of outstanding payments, and maintaining strong professional relationships with our commercial clients.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in credit control and finance administration to contribute to the accuracy and efficiency of a growing specialist contractor.
Responsibilities
Monitor and manage the company's
accounts receivable
, ensuring prompt collection of overdue invoices
Contact clients via phone and email to follow up on outstanding payments and agree payment plans where necessary
Raise sales invoices and issue customer statements
Allocate and reconcile customer payments, resolving discrepancies efficiently
Maintain accurate records of all finance and credit control communications and transactions
Work closely with the finance and commercial teams to resolve billing queries and disputes
Assist with
month-end
finance processes and reporting
Process supplier invoices and support
accounts payable
activities
Prepare regular reports on outstanding balances and debt collection progress for management
Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant financial regulations
Skills & Experience
Proven experience in
credit control, finance administration, or accounts receivable
Proficiency in accounting software such as
Sage, Xero, or QuickBooks
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a professional approach
Good working knowledge of
Excel
Familiarity with
accounts payable
is advantageous
Ability to analyse financial data accurately and identify issues promptly
Knowledge of relevant financial regulations and best practices
