We have conversations with farmers and contractors as we capture the daily challenge of producing food for the world. Your role will be:

Screening and researching leads to be on screen contributors for FarmFLiX episodes Preparing directors with a clear outline of the potential for a contributor to make a great episode ahead of filming Deciding when and where to send crews filming depending on weather and internal logistics Remotely organising logistics of a crew on the road, or travelling with a crew in a support capacity to manage logistics While on the road with a crew:
(a) take point on making contact with the farmer or contractor first with a goal of reassuring them and putting them at ease
(b) finding out what's happening on the farm and figuring out with the director what order filming should take
(c) identify the key people on the ground who will make great conversation on camera
(d) help manage logistics for directors by observing the day's timeline progress and identifying any opportunities camera crew / director haven't spotted
(e) assist with interviewing contributors

Things to consider before applying:



Full-time position, based in the Antrim area (BT41) Travel required with filming crew which is weather driven and seasonal Flexible to travel at short notice across UK & Ireland Clean UK driving license Willing to learn secondary video production skills to assist your fellow crew members

Essential Skills



An interest in the people and the family dynamics behind farming A likeable nature where people who have just met you feel comfortable (a good sense of humour and a natural storytelling ability is very useful in this role) Unguarded and open about yourself - you will need to share aspects of your life experience to help put contributors at ease

Useful Skills



10+ years of real world farming or work experience to draw on as you hold conversation with our contributors An interest in learning more about the aspects of farming you don't know much about (not afraid to admit you don't know something when asking questions!) An affection for the heavy machinery and plant - either the latest and greatest or the classic kit still in use A passion for the livestock, from pygmy goats to dairy cows, we need someone who can talk turkey with our featured farmers Curious about the business perspective of the owners making the big decisions on how they run their operations
