Supervise and support fee earners and caseworkers on criminal matters.
Ensure compliance with the
LAA Crime Supervisor Standard
.
Represent clients at the police station and Magistrates' Court.
Undertake duty solicitor work and manage rota commitments.
Review files and ensure quality of advice, case preparation, and advocacy.
Provide mentoring, and guidance to junior staff.
Contribute to the strategic development of the crime department.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will:
Be a qualified Solicitor with a valid practising certificate.
Hold
Police Station Accreditation (PSQ/CLAS)
.
Be a
current Duty Solicitor
.
Have at least
3 years' recent criminal defence experience
.
Be able to evidence the portfolio for the last 12 months.
Have proven experience supervising criminal defence casework.
Possess excellent advocacy, organisational, and communication skills.
