Criminal Paralegal
Job Description
We are seeking a part time dedicated and driven Criminal Paralegal to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual with at least 12 months of experience in a busy practice to advance their career in a dynamic and challenging legal environment. The ideal candidate should be eager to learn, able to work on their own initiative, and willing to travel. The role involves providing support across various areas of criminal law, including taking instructions from clients, liaising with chambers, courts, the CPS, and the police, and drafting instructions to counsel and experts. You will also take witness statements, prepare for trials, conduct legal research, and provide advice to clients at police station once accredited. Travel to various courts, police stations and prisons across Greater Manchester, Lancashire, the Midlands, and Yorkshire will be required, and the candidate should be prepared to build and maintain a personal clientele or following. A strong work ethic, organisational skills, and attention to detail are essential for success in this role.
Requirements:
A minimum of 12 months of experience in criminal law.
Police Station Accreditation is advantageous but not essential (training opportunities will be provided).
A hard-working attitude with a strong willingness to learn and develop skills.
Flexibility and readiness to travel as required.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
