Criminal Solicitor
Job Description
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Criminal Solicitor to join our growing team. You will be a first-class lawyer with excellent experience in criminal law. The candidate will be needed to join our out of hours rota to cover work overnight and at weekends. Duty accreditation would be advantageous.
As our Criminal Solicitor, you will provide legal assistance and defence to our clients. You will devise effective strategies to reduce the risk of prosecution whilst obtaining the best possible results. You must be confident to represent clients in court, and have the ability to think substantively and handle complex court cases. It is essential that you have achieved Duty Status and are prepared to be listed on the Duty rota. You will be experienced in criminal defence matters, and be looking to excel with a well-established Legal 500 firm. You will be passionate about this sector and motivated to provide practical and high quality client service to all legal aid and private clients.
The successful candidate must have:
- 2-3 Years PQE
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Qualified solicitor status, with proven UK experience in criminal law
- Proven track record of success in Magistrates Court
- The ability to develop and expand a case load
