Criminal Solicitor

, to join their dynamic and dedicated Criminal Defence team.

You will manage a broad caseload of criminal matters, representing clients from police station through to Crown Court. The successful candidate will combine strong advocacy and client care skills with a commitment to delivering high-quality legal representation to all clients.

Key Responsibilities



Manage a varied caseload of criminal defence matters, from police station representation through to trial. Provide advice and representation at the police station, Magistrates' Court, and Crown Court (as appropriate). Attend clients at police stations on rota or call-out as part of the duty scheme. Prepare case files, briefs to counsel, and all supporting documentation. Conduct advocacy in the Magistrates' Court and liaise with barristers for Crown Court matters. Liaise effectively with clients, counsel, police, witnesses, and court staff. Ensure compliance with Legal Aid Agency (LAA) regulations and internal case management procedures. Maintain the highest standards of client care and professional ethics. Contribute to the development of the criminal department and support junior team members where required.

About You



Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) with a current practising certificate. Duty Solicitor Accreditation (preferred / essential depending on role). Strong advocacy skills and experience representing clients in court and police stations. Sound understanding of criminal law, procedure, and legal aid processes. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work well under pressure and manage a demanding caseload. Empathetic, resilient, and committed to achieving the best outcomes for clients.
