We are seeking an experienced Criminal/Regulatory Solicitor to join our team. The role involves advising and representing clients in criminal proceedings and regulatory investigations, including police station work, court hearings, and professional disciplinary matters. You will manage a varied caseload and work closely with individuals, businesses and regulators.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Advise and represent clients in criminal proceedings, regulatory investigations, and enforcement actions.
Prepare and manage case files, including drafting legal documents, representations and defense statements.
Represent clients in police interviews, tribunals, and regulatory obligations, including health and safety, financial crime, professional discipline, and licensing.
Negotiate with prosecuting authorities and regulatory bodies to secure favorable outcomes.
Conduct legal research and apply relevant statutes, case law, and regulatory codes.
Maintain accurate case records and ensure compliance with the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) Code of Conduct.
Build and manage relationships with clients, regulators, prosecuting agencies and other stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
Qualified Solicitor with current practicing certificate
Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience in criminal law and/or regulatory practice.
Strong knowledge of UK criminal procedure and regulatory frameworks.
Excellent advocacy, drafting, and negotiation skills.
Ability to manage a varied caseload under pressure and met strict deadlines.
