Role Description/Purpose of the role:
We are seeking a motivated, technically capable individual with a STEM background who can rapidly pick up new skills in software, coding, and data analysis. In this role, you will take ownership of our Salesforce CRM system--configuring, maintaining, and improving it over time. You will also harness the data within to generate actionable insights that support our commercial growth and decision-making.
You will serve as the bridge between data infrastructure, sales operations, and commercial strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
Administer, maintain, and configure our Salesforce CRM instance
Manage user accounts, permissions, profiles, roles
Design and update page layouts, record types, validation rules, workflows, process builders / flows
Integrate with other systems (if applicable) and maintain data syncs
Monitor system health, perform regular audits, manage backups & cleanup
Identify, propose, and implement enhancements to the CRM
Gather requirements from users, translate into system changes
Optimize processes and automate repetitive tasks
Ensure the configuration scales as the company grows
Data analysis & insights
Extract, clean, and transform CRM data to support reporting
Build dashboards, reports, and visualizations for sales leadership
Perform deeper analytics (segmentation, cohort analysis, pipeline leakage, forecasting)
Draw conclusions and present recommendations to commercial stakeholders
Sales pipeline governance & process support
Enforce data quality standards and completeness
Define and document pipeline stages, business rules, and workflows
Monitor process adherence, flag anomalies and recommend corrective action
Serve as a subject-matter expert on how sales data maps to commercial outcomes
Cross-functional collaboration
Work with sales, marketing, operations, product teams to ensure CRM supports workflows
Provide training, support, and documentation to end users
Act as the voice of data and CRM best practices within the company
Key Skills/Experience/Competencies:
Demonstrable ability / comfort learning new software, coding languages, and data tools
Experience with (or strong desire to learn) CRM systems -- ideally Salesforce
Strong analytical skills, with ability to work with large data sets and derive insights
Proficiency in SQL, data manipulation (e.g. Excel / Python / Power BI tools)
Understanding of sales & commercial processes and metrics (pipeline, funnel, conversion rates, forecast)
Meticulous attention to detail and strong problem-solving mindset
Excellent communication skills -- able to explain data-driven insights to non-technical stakeholders
Self-starter attitude and ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
Desirable but not essential:
Salesforce Administrator certification (or willingness to obtain)
Experience building complex Salesforce flows, Apex, or custom coding
Experience integrating Salesforce with Marketing Automation tools or other business systems
Prior exposure to sales operations or revenue operations
Experience in a scale-up or high-growth environment
Education/Qualifications:
Degree in a STEM discipline (e.g. Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, etc.)
