The role



We have an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced, collaborative, and supportive Student Recruitment Marketing team, where your expertise will be key to delivering personalised. targeted student recruitment and marketing activities, and driving data-informed decision making in support of the University's student recruitment strategy.

You will work across key data sources - most notably our CRM system (Microsoft Dynamics) and student information systems, to deliver segmented, high-quality contact data that powers personalised and tactical marketing activities. You'll also be responsible for analysing campaign and engagement data to provide impactful reporting and assessment, using business intelligence tools to create intuitive dashboards and compelling data visualisations.

You'll ensure high data quality and integrity in our CRM system, collaborating with teams across student recruitment, marketing and Digital Technology Services. You'll focus on high data standards, GDPR compliance, and support technical enhancements to enhance performance and user experience.

You are a data specialist with a keen eye for detail and a passion for turning complex datasets into actionable insights. With strong numeracy skills and advanced Excel expertise, you're comfortable managing, joining, and interrogating large and varied data sets.

You'll know how to use customer data to drive impactful marketing and recruitment, ensuring alignment with audience needs and behaviours.

We are looking for someone with:
Extensive experience using SQL for data manipulation Advanced data visualisation skills (ideally Tableau) Pro-active approach to learning and using new systems and software Experience of navigating complex regulatory environments, with strong working knowledge of GDPR
Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 is desirable, as is experience in Higher Education.



The department



The Recruitment, Communications and Marketing (RCM) directorate brings together teams responsible for student admissions and recruitment, student recruitment and strategic marketing, events, external engagement, and internal communications.

Together we aim to deliver an excellent customer-centred admissions and student recruitment service, supporting applicants from their initial enquiry to enrolment. We engage with schools, colleges, and community partners to widen our participation and outreach, lead our student recruitment operations such as clearing and open days, as well as support recruitment and drive conversion through high quality targeted marketing activity.

We develop and implement the University's corporate and reputational brand strategy, campaigns, website, CRM system, content and social media strategies, provide professional news and PR, public affairs and corporate events service, and deliver strategic, cross-University employee and student communications.

This role sits within the Student Recruitment Marketing department. We are responsible for delivering high quality, high impact, engaging and targeted marketing activity that drives lead generation, student recruitment and conversion throughout each stage of the customer journey.

You will be contractually enrolled into the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) - one of the largest and most generous defined-benefit pension schemes in the country.

Each year you will earn a secure pension benefit of 1/49th of your salary and the University will pay pension contributions towards the cost of this pension (currently worth about 22% of your salary). For a starting salary of 40,000, for example, the University would pay just over 8,700 in the first year of your employment and you would earn a pension of 816 p.a. for that year (payable from your State Pension Age).
