Role Overview
As a self-employed Cruise Host you'll play a vital role in making our guests feel welcome, engaged, and at home throughout their journey. You'll host a variety of fun activities, quizzes, and social events, helping to foster a warm and friendly atmosphere on board.
You'll work closely with the Cruise Director and the wider team to deliver a programme of light entertainment and activities, support guest relations, and help ensure every guest enjoys a truly special holiday.
Scope of Services
Activities & Guest Engagement
Host and organise daily activities such as quizzes, themed evenings, and wellbeing sessions, bringing a friendly presence and a good sense of fun!
Host weekly events collaborating with the Cruise Director and support visiting guest entertainers or speakers.
Help set up and ensure activity equipment is ready to use (no technical expertise required--just a willingness to lend a hand).
Promote and encourage guest participation in activities, making sure everyone feels included.
Guest Experience & Support
Act as a Riviera Travel brand ambassador, always ready with a smile and a helping hand, enhancing the guest journey onboard and ashore.
Become well-versed in the destinations we visit, offering guests helpful tips, recommendations, and advice about the ports of call to enrich their experience ashore.
Support guests with information, respond to feedback, and help resolve any issues with care and professionalism.
Assist with cabin upgrades and future cruise bookings, working alongside the Cruise Director and contact centre.
Contribute to weekly reports and share operational updates as needed.
Shore Excursions & Transfers
Help deliver a smooth excursions programme, accompanying guests on selected outings to ensure everything runs seamlessly.
Conduct regular quality audits and respond proactively to guest feedback.
Support embarkation, disembarkation, and airport transfers, offering a warm welcome and farewell to all guests.
Who We're Looking For
Experience in River Cruise guest service, hospitality, or activity hosting is a plus, but above all, we value a positive attitude and a genuine passion for working with people.
Confident communicator with strong English language skills and a clear, friendly microphone technique.
Organised, approachable, and adaptable--ready to jump in and help wherever needed.
Professional appearance and a team player spirit.

This is a self-employed contract for the provision of hosting services. You will be responsible for your own tax, insurance, and compliance obligations. Riviera Travel will provide agreed schedules, guidelines, and support to ensure service delivery meets brand standards.
