Are you passionate about lifelong learning and making a real difference in your community? North Yorkshire Council's Adult Learning and Skills Service (ALSS) is seeking a forward-thinking Curriculum Manager to lead our Vocational and Maths curriculum areas.
This is a key leadership role within a service that delivers life-changing education to young people and adults across the region.
About the Role
As Curriculum Manager, you will oversee the planning and implementation of a diverse curriculum offer, including:
Vocational subjects
Business Administration
Supportive Teaching and Learning
Accredited provision
Maths
Tailored learning programmes
You will manage a team of Adult Education Teachers across multiple locations, ensuring that all programmes meet learner needs and align with our strategic goals. You'll also oversee curriculum area budgets, quality assurance, and contribute to service-wide performance planning.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead curriculum development aligned with the ALSS strategy
Conduct quality assurance activities including audits
Use data to monitor performance and drive improvement
Collaborate with internal and external partners to shape the current curriculum offer
Ensure compliance with awarding body standards and funding requirements
Support strategic planning and contribute to the service's vision
What We're Looking For
A degree or Level 5 qualification relevant to the delivery of adult learning
A teaching qualification at Level 4 or above
Proven leadership experience in Further Education or Adult Education
Strong understanding of the Education Inspection Framework (EIF)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong problem-solving skills and a solution-focused mindset
The ability to work independently and collaboratively
Experience with the Education Inspection Framework is highly desirable, and a commitment to the delivery of quality and learner-centred education is essential.
