The East Hants Building Control team have a wonderful opportunity for an enthusiastic and committed Customer and Technical Support Assistant to join our small but dynamic team. This permanent position is ideally suited to someone with a customer service skills background who wants to develop their career in a busy and supportive workplace.
By assessing building designs and inspecting construction on site, Building Control helps property owners and other developers ensure that their building projects comply with Building Regulations. It also deals with dangerous structures, demolition applications and other construction related enquiries and is very much at the front end of supporting and assisting customers to achieve their construction aims.
Working both from home and at the Petersfield office as required, you will be at the forefront of helping customers on the phone and via email with general enquiries, booking inspection appointments, processing and registering applications, dealing with price quotations. You will also provide back office administrative and technical support to the Building Control Surveyors in the team by validating such applications, attaching various documents and plans to existing applications, and carrying out a range of other tasks as required.
Whilst previous knowledge of Building Control is desirable, excellent interaction with customers and staff, a flexible approach to work, the abilities to think for yourself and learn and use new IT systems is essential.
