Customer Data Management Lead

London, ENG, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

About Moneybox

At Moneybox, our mission is to help people save and invest for their future. Every feature, every product, and every decision we make is powered by data. We know that to build trust and deliver a world-class experience, our data must be as reliable and secure as the financial services we provide. We're looking for a passionate and strategic Customer Data Management Lead to lead the charge on this mission.

Your role in a nutshell

As our Customer Data Management Lead, you won't just be a guardian of our data--you'll be responsible for designing the processes, policies and approaches that ensure our customer data is trustworthy, authentic, and timely for every critical business decision. You will be a key driver in ensuring a scalable, mature data ecosystem, embedding architectural best practices for data storage, optimisation, and transport as a core design principle across our entire organisation.

###

What you'll do

+

Systems and technical processes

: Architect the systems and technical processes for managing our customer data, including databases, pipelines, and storage systems. You will ensure that our data architecture is designed to enforce governance requirements for security and traceability, building the technical foundations for a secure and reliable data ecosystem. +

Operationalise Governance

: Translate strategic data governance policies and rules into practical, technical requirements. This includes robust data models, schemas, and data pipelines that enforce data security, quality, and provenance from the moment data is collected.
+

Ensure Data Provenance and Lineage

: Take technical ownership of data provenance and lineage to ensure that we are building a single, authoritative source of truth. You will work with the technology team to suggest and support their implementation of tools and algorithms to automatically capture and document data flow and transformations, ensuring we can always trace the journey of our data for trust and regulatory compliance.
+

Combat Data Staleness

: Ensure that we are implementing technical systems for continuous monitoring and proactive mitigation of stale data. You'll define what "fresh" data means for different business needs, such as fraud detection versus marketing analytics, and set up automated alerts to flag delays before they impact business decisions.
+

Drive Master Data Management (MDM) & Data Quality

: Lead the effort to create a consistent and unified view of our critical data. This is a hands-on role where you will oversee data quality through our data catalogues and work closely with data stewards to enforce policies, manage metadata, and address data issues on a day-to-day basis.
+

Collaborate and Champion Standards

: Work closely with our data engineering, IT, and compliance teams to ensure policies are not only defined but also implemented effectively. You will advocate for data's value across the company, turning complex technical insights into clear, actionable stories for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
