We're delighted to be recruiting on behalf of Empress Fencing, a fantastic small business in Chatburn who are looking for a Customer Service & Office Manager to become a key part of their close-knit team. This is one of those rare roles where no two days are the same - and the successful candidate will genuinely be lucky to join such a friendly, supportive workplace.
This is a hands-on role, ideal for an experienced and confident administrator who enjoys variety, people, and a bit of responsibility.
The successful candidate will oversee daily operations, ensure exceptional service delivery, and foster a positive environment for both clients and staff. This role requires strong leadership skills, proficiency with office management tools, and the ability to handle complex administrative tasks efficiently. The Customer Service & Office Manager will play a vital part in maintaining our company's reputation for outstanding customer care and operational excellence.
Role expectations:
Supervise and manage the customer service and office team to ensure and maintain high service standards
Develop and implement customer service policies and procedures
Handle escalated customer queries professionally and promptly
Oversee day-to-day office operations and support the Admin Manager and Bookkeeper as necessary
Prepare work schedules and maintain accurate records and reports
Coordinate with other departments to resolve issues efficiently
Manage stock ordering and maintain tools and machinery lists
Maintain office supplies, equipment, and carry out basic website updates
Lead, train and support the office team, including inductions, training and performance reviews
Ensure compliance with company policies and regulations
Maintain excellent phone etiquette and confidently handle customer relations, including counter sales
Who we're looking for:
An experienced and competent administrator with office or clerical experience, ideally in a customer service environment
Proven supervisory or team management experience
Strong organisational and record-keeping skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Confident, friendly and professional communicator, both in person and on the phone
Good understanding of people management, including training and development
A team player who enjoys working in a small business environment
Flexible and willing to cover staff absence when required
