Join us as a Cycle Lead at First Step Sports Group, a company dedicated to inspiring and promoting physical activity among the younger generation through positive experiences in a sporting environment. We are seeking an organised, motivated, and articulate individual to help promote sustainable travel in primary schools, manage the cycle team and lead department activities

As the Cycle Lead, you will provide instruction and support to participants in our cycle training programmes. You will help them to develop their skills and confidence, and ultimately achieve their goals.

First Step Cycle, part of the First Step Sports Group is a cycle training organisation specialising in the delivery of on road cycle training for all ages including; Bikeability levels 1, 2 and 3, community and adult cycle training. The Position

As the Lead for your department it is your responsibility to oversee the successful running of your departments activities, services and standards delivered by your team. You must maintain an excellent industry knowledge, department services and represent the brand and its vison, and values to ensure that you achieve its annual goals, and performance targets which focuses around, quality standards, growth, team performance and customer retention and satisfaction.

  • Maintain Delivery Standards, Performance & Quality Assurance Coordination
  • Product/Service Development
  • Marketing Coordination
  • Customer Induction & Experience Management
  • Customer Mapping Meetings
  • Customer/Funder Liaison
  • Dept Delivery Resource & Policy management
  • Health & Safety Coordination
  • Staff departmental Induction
  • Staff Training & Development
  • Staff management (probation and appraisal input)
  • Data Management Review
Knowledge and Experience Requirements
  • Passionate and experienced cyclist
  • Cycle maintenance skills
  • 1st4Sport L2 Award in Instructing Cycle Training Qualification (desirable)
  • Training Experience
  • Natural Leader
  • Knowledge and understanding of sport, education or similar industry
  • Proficient use of all Microsoft Packages
  • Has a good understanding of Child Protection, Child Development, Health and Safety and Sports Equity principles, policies and procedures and subsequent training
  • Good standard of education, Preferably degree level, with a Management qualification or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience working in a similar position
  • A proven track record of reporting and achieving targets
  • Experience meeting face to face with existing or prospective clients
  • A clean driving Licence is essential for this role
