Job Description
Farm worker required for Dairy farm located outside Ballynahinch, Co. Down. Should have a good eye for livestock, be reliable, enthusiastic and able to work independently.
Work hours: at least 5 days per week minimum of 30 hours, pay will be negotiated based on skills and experience.
About the farm
The herd is milked through 2 Lely robots with an A&B grazing block managed in summer months, facilitated through the use of a Lely Grazeway system. The herd is fed concentrate feed via both robot and out of parlour feeders.
The pedigree Holstein herd is currently averaging 10,140 litres per cow @ 4.53% butterfat & 3.61% protein, SCC 64 & Bactocount of 13.
Main duties to include:
Feeding / rearing calves
Feeding block silage to cows
Cleaning and bedding cubicles
Assisting with animal health tasks to include monthly Veterinary visits
Daily robotic checks and maintenance
Daily movement of electric fences in summer.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: 12.21-17.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 30 per week
Work Location: In person
